One more day to go, and by now you have probably noticed lots of positive changes and improvements of symptoms. You may begin to wonder what will happen after you complete the 21 days. How will you be reintroducing foods after the 21-Day Detox for a Sexy New You?

 

If you already know that things like gluten or dairy cause you discomfort, you do not need to reintroduce them. The same goes for generally unhealthy foods like refined grains and processed foods. Whatever you do, you do not just want to go back to the way you were eating before you eliminated inflammatory foods. First of all, you will feel miserable, most likely even worse than before you started, and you would be erasing all progress that you made.

Secondly, you would be missing out on your opportunity to test the foods your body reacts to negatively, like dairy, grains, gluten, and legumes. This is your chance to test and journal about your experience and symptoms, while you slowly reintroduce one of these types of foods every three days. You will be eating a single serving of it, for example a piece of cheese, first thing in the morning, about 30 minutes before your breakfast.

Be aware, that symptoms can set in anytime withing 72 hours of eating a food. That’s why you need to wait at least 3 days to reintroduce the next food! Symptoms you are looking for include fatigue, joint pain, acid reflux, brain fog, mood changes, headaches, post-nasal drip, acne, digestive upset (bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea), sleep problems, rashes, joint pains, and fluid retention.

Consider eliminating the foods you have strong reactions to for the time being, giving your gut a chance to heal. You can test them again in a few months. Also remember to limit your consumption of alcohol and caffeine going forward.
